TPN3 is a participatory and voluntary network involving a wide range of members, including countries, national institutions such as the Forest and Range Organization and local community groups such as village councils. The national, provincial and local offices of TPN3 will collaborate with many governmental and non-governmental agencies and groups. The launching meeting of TPN3 was held on 7 to 9 May 2001, at Yazd (I.R.Iran ) and its core objective is: The creation, collection and circulation of information and building up of capacity to assist in re-establishing sustainable systems for managing rangelands and livestock production in an economic and socially equitable manner in participating countries.
