| Following
the Dehli 1996 Conference and the Beijing Ministerial conference
held in May 1997, the establishment of six Thematic Networks, which
shall constitute the Regional
Action Programme (RAP) to Combat Desertification in Asia, was approved.
A
Questionnaire on Thematic Network No III on Rangeland Management
in arid areas, including the Fixation of Shifting Sand Dunes was
addressed in May 1999, to Parties of the CCD, members of the Regional
Implementation Annex for Asia. Its potential is to survey options
for their potential participation in the network if they are interested.
