It’s about time that we talk about soil

30/11/2012 – 10 cm of fertile soils are created in 2000 years – we deplete them in a few years. The film “Let’s talk about soil” launched during the First Global Soil Week held in Berlin from 18-22 November 2012 vividly illustrates the importance of this finite natural resource that we must protect.

The First Global Soil Week offered a forum for interactive exchange and dialogue with a series of dynamic, focused sessions to facilitate the interaction between the participants. The event was part of the series of movements to explore the burning question of land and soil degradation in follow-up to the Rio+20 outcomes in which the world leaders agreed “to strive to achieve a land-degradation neutral world in the context of sustainable development.”
