Putting a Price on Land Degradation with Ephraim Nkonya
Emphraim Nkonya, Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute tells about a new study that puts effects of land degradation into economic perspectives. IFPRI’s new draft will help policy makers to understand the benefits in terms of dollars and GDP growth if they go land degradation neutral. “Price tags” are an instrument to visualize the cost of action if fertile land is degraded. “That’s the language that they understand and which can make them to take action against land degradation”.
