Restoring Earth’s Degraded Land
This short documentary shows the environmental impacts of land degradation and their link to the social conflicts in northern Kenya. The focus is the Pokot people who depend on cattle for their livelihoods. In recent years, violence between communities has escalated. The initiatives featured here on building trust and confidence --the pre-requisites for addressing natural resource-based conflicts -- hold promise.
