The Central Project Coordination Office (CPCO) and Central Project Management Office (CPMO), National Development and Reform Commission will co-organise the International Conference on Sustainable Land Management (SLM) Policies and Practices, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, State Forestry Administration, the Department of International Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Global Environment Facility (GEF) and Asia Development Bank (ADB) in Beijing on May 7-8th, 2013.
The conference will focus on SLM policies and practices, monitoring and assessment, and measurements of SLM under climate change. Specific topics for discussion include domestic and international development opportunities, policy status, institutional building, and innovative mechanisms of SLM; achievements of domestic and international SLM practices and successful SLM experience and information-sharing; comprehensive land degradation monitoring and assessment indicator system, methods, case studies and network mechanism for different LD types at the national, provincial and local levels, combination of international hotspots like climate change mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity conservation, etc., and innovative policy mechanisms.
