Armenia is not poor in water resources, but it spends too much water


According to AAshot Vardevanyan.jpgshot Vardevanyan, coordinator of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, Armenia is not poor in water resources, but it spends too much water as 25 percent of Armenian land experiences the danger of
desertification and 81 percent is subject to desertification. Vardevanyan states that it is essential to build small and medium size reservoirs to deal with this problem. “Soon, wars will be waged not only for lands but also for water. Water is a costly resource,” he said, advising to economize water resources.
