COST is an intergovernmental framework for European Cooperation in Science and Technology established to initiate networking and coordination of nationally funded research activities on a European level.
COST Action ES1104 is a networking opportunity focusing on practical measures that can be used by practitioners, stakeholders and authorities to restore degraded drylands and manage their recovery. It will run from June 2012 to May 2016.
Funding for Short-Term Scientific Missions
In support of Action ES1104, COST can provide financial support to eligible applicants to carry out a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) that will contribute to the scientific objectives of this COST Action. Grants for funding STSMs are awarded in quarterly rounds. The next application deadlines are:
- 15 April for missions in June and August 2014
- 15 July for missions in September and November 2014
- 15 October for missions in December 2014 and February 2015
