Water Management

The course is divided into 4 modules. The first module 'Rice and Water' is an introductory section that analyzes water use and its productivity. It is structured in seven lessons. The second module  is structured in four lessons which will discuss major components of the soil in relation to the plant growth and water movement in soil to plant and to the atmosphere. Module 3 of the Course presents technology options to help farmers manage irrigation water efficiently and soundly, save water and cope with water scarcity at the field level. After compleeting the last chapter participants will be able to describe alternate wetting and drying (AWD) in relation to crop growth, demonstrate how to implement the safe AWD technique using field water tube and appreciate the benefits of safe AWD irrigation technique.
