EcoSummit 2016 - Ecological Sustainability: Engineering Change
EcoSummit 2016 will centered on the ecology of terrestrial ecosystems and all habitats that are integrated within those ecosystems, including river networks, wetlands and coastlines. Focus will be placed on fragile ecosystems that are more likely to suffer the consequences of climate change and anthropogenic pressure. Proposals should be submitted by 31 July 2015.

21st session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
The 21st session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), or COP21, will be held from November the 30th to December the 11th, 2015 on the Paris-Le Bourget site, bringing together around 40,000 participants in total - delegates representing each country, observers, and civil society members.
The aim is to reach, for the first time, a universal, legally binding agreement that will enable us to combat climate change effectively and boost the transition towards resilient, low-carbon societies and economies.

12th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) - COP12
Turkey and the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) have signed a Host Country Agreement for the 12th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 12) to the UNCCD.

2nd Africa Food Security & Adaptation Conference
The 2nd Africa Food Security and Adaptation conference (AFSAC2) will take place on July 30-31, 2015 with theme: Africa’s Soil the New Frontier: Re-imagining Africa Food Security Now and into the Future under a Changing Climate.
The key objectives of the conference are:
• To identify scalable and inclusive business models for ecosystem based adaptation (EBA) driven agriculture that can create opportunities in the entire agricultural value chain
• To identify scalable innovative financing models for EBA driven agriculture that when implemented could stimulate growth, job creation and value chain partnership in Africa
• To understand the benefits of EBA for job creation and the achievement of the proposed SDGs and what Africa will lose as a continent if EBA is ignored or given little support;
• To identify enabling policies and legislation that will incentivize countries to invest in agriculture, soil conservation and EBA;
• To discuss what needs to be done to incentivize private sector involvement in EBA-driven agriculture to bring in capital and enhance competitiveness.
Second Africa Ecosystem Based Adaptation for Food Security Conference 2015
This conference is co-organized by UNEP in collaboration with other UN Agencies, Governments, Private Sector, Research Institution, NGOs, CSOs Scholars, Donors, and Local Governments. It aims at re-imagining food security through harnessing Ecosystem Based Adaptation (EBA) approaches in agriculture to strengethen productivty in accordance with the natural systems.
The conference will take place over two days, and will consist of a combination of plenary and panel group discussions. Each plenary will be structured around one theme and resourced by high level thinkers from diverse perspectives and sectors. The breakout session will be framed around a set of key questions.
