How to apply?

The jury will examine only applications filed using the Application Form. Applicants are encouraged to download the form as a Word document and type their answers into the corresponding boxes.

Applications must be sent (email preferred) by 8 April 2013.  (Deadline has been extended).

Institutions can nominate as many third-party candidates as they wish, and they may support an unlimited number of direct applications.

The nomination statement should be no more than 300 words in length. It should summarize achievements and explain why the institution is motivated to nominate the candidate.

Self-nominated applications must be accompanied by statements (maximum 300 words) from two Supporting References. If for some reason the endorsement cannot be included in the application form, then reference to the candidate's application must be very clearly indicated in the message sent to the organizers to avoid loss of data.

Applications, whether direct or on behalf of a third party, must thoroughly explain the activity and its results with particular attention to the criteria. This shall not exceed 3,000 words.

All questions in Section 5 of the Application form must be answered (Yes or No).

Completed applications should be sent via email to L4L(AT)unccd.int (preferred).

We welcome the attachment of photos and other media.

Paper applications or nominations should be mailed to:
