Work ExperienceDr. Arnon Karnieli has considerable knowledge and experience in desert studies. His current activities are dealing with drought monitoring in the Negev Desert by remote sensing; Characterization and mapping of desert soils by remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS) in Central Asia; Monitoring desertification processes in Gobi Desert; Linking between GISA of salt affected soil and vegetation and remote sensing in. Aral Sea delta. Most of these projects are funded by the US-AID and by the EU in framework of the ITAS and INCO programs.
