| Work Experience | After collaborating with Milan university (PEDO/GIS Lab., 1970-1989), he moved to Sassari, where he collaborated (1989-today), founded and managed as director the nrd (nucleo ricerca desertificazione), the most authoritative Italian academic centre of studies on desertification.
He works in particular on sustainable management and conservation of fragile soils and land resources in dry areas, performing integrated analysis of land degradation systems, developing assessment and monitoring tools. He performed or supervised the implementation of several research and technical cooperation projects; coordinated interdisciplinary teams in project design and implementation; kept linkages with partners and donors; participated to all UNCCD-COPs . |
