Other ActivitiesInvestigation in my research group focus on geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing (RS), and applications of these techniques on agriculture. Plant populations, plant communities and ecosystem ecology constitute my other important interest areas. Topics currently being pursued include mapping agricultural land use and land coverage of Turkey, yield prediction, protection of genetic diversity in their natural environment (In-Situ),early warnign systems for some epidemic plant diseases and pests, ecology, and control of invasive plants. I especially focused on mesquite invasion in the ragelands of northern Chihuahuan Desert (Desertification process) during my master degree in New Mexico State University (USA) between the years 1996 and 1998. I am still pursing my Ph.D study about the subjects thatare mentioned above in the Biology Department of Middle East Technical University, Turkey
