Work ExperienceThe applicant conceived, developed and implemented an interdisciplinary project to: assess the risk related to variable climate and seasonal climate forecasts; determine the impact of variable climate and seasonal climate forecasts on the water budget, soil water and land productivity; and, develop information for risk-based management strategies that enhance the productivity and sustainability of forage-livestock systems in the Great Plains. The project is complex and links many of the components of the production environment together, starting with the variability and risk of climatic drivers to soil moisture dynamics to land productivity. The project objectives are the development of tools that helpproducers plan, manage and optimize agricultural production within the whole system. The applicant is on agricultural watershed response, agricultural water needs, and regional water budgets. The applicant is also assessing the hydrologic watershed system behavior in response to global cl
