| Work Experience | Revived and manages PELUM South Africa, local chapter of an African network of NGOs in Participatory Ecological Land Use Management. Established PROLINNOVA South Africa, country programme of a Global Partnership Programme for local innovation in sustainable agriculture and natural resources management. As Director of the Farmer Support Group managed projects in community-based natural resources management projects (e.g. Landcare) and was implementing agent for the Maloti-Drakensberg Transfrontier Project. As interim director of the Msunduzi Innovation and Development Institute facilitated public-private partnerships for urban development in Pietermaritzburg. Was a lecturer in rural development and extension at the University of Zululand. As international consultant for Stoas and Wageningen University evaluated programmes such as Working for Water (South Africa), Integrated Pest Management (Egypt), sustainable smallholder agriculture (India), and smallholder irrigation (Pakistan). |
