Work ExperienceZhao Qiguo was graduated from Hua Zhong Agriculture University in 1953, and he spent more than 40 years as a soil scientist working in the red soil are of South China, the forested region of Northeaast China, the arid region of Northwest China and the salinized and alkaline regions of central China. He has contributed significantly to develop soil resources maps. With his efforts, pedogenetic indices of modern and paleosol weathering processes and planning for development and utilization of the soil in tropical and sub-tropical regions based on distribution and properties of soils. He contacted more than 30 states and also spent five years in Cuba from 1965 to 1969, and a soil classification scheme has been developed and a research institute of soil research has been established in Cuba.
