Work ExperienceFrom May 1988 to June 1991 I worked as a World Meteorological Organization regional data processing expert in southern Africa in a project known as FINNIDA/SATCC/WMO-meteorology project. I was based in Tanzania though all the other SADCC countries (Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe) also belonged to my area. My work was to install microcomputers to the national weather services in SADCC-countries, to teach the personnel of national weather services in the use of computers and to install a climatological database management system (CLICOM) in those countries. My duties also included assisting in the initial entry of data to these newly established digital databases. Since August 1991 I have worked as a researcher in the Finnish Meteorological Institute. I have specialised in the energy balance components (solar radiation, sensible and latent heat I.e. evaportion) of the earth's surface. I have also done research work on issues related to
