Work Experience- Made contributions in establishing satellite remote sensing methodology for Forest/Vegetation cover mapping and monitoring for India. Methodologies developed are being used by Forest Survey of India as an operational methodology. - Development of Digital Image Processing techniques for vegetation classification and quantification using satellite remote sensing. - Developed methods to estimate above ground biomass and forest productivity in natural forests and plantations. - Biophysical Spectral Response Modelling Approach for Forest Density Stratification. - Analysis for microwave remote sensing data for extracting information on forest canopy, type discrimination and digital approach in contextual classification. - For the first time reported significance of Middle Infrared band data for forest type discrimination. The results have been used as input in developing IRS-1C payload. - Developed statellite remote sensing based methodology for detecting narcotic drug crop of op
