Vera BOERGER
Vera BOERGER, is Senior Land and Water Officer at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
She is an agronomist, with a long-term field experience, mainly in Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean, in the areas of extension, communication for development, school feeding, family farming and inclusive food systems for sustainable rural development, integrated landscape approaches, sustainable land and water management, community-based natural resources management and land tenure.
After moving to Headquarters in Rome in 2018, she has been leading the work on Sustainable Land Management, Integrated Land Use Planning, Land tenure/governance, drylands/desertification, sand and dust storms and land/ecosystem restoration at FAO’s Land and Water Division.
She has been serving as an observer to UNCCD Science and Policy Interface since 2019.
