Feras Ziadat
Feras Ziadat is a Land and Water Officer at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with a specific focus on land resource management and planning. His dedication lies in supporting integrated land and water management, fostering participatory land use planning, combating land degradation and desertification, conducting wind and water erosion assessments and modeling, advancing soil conservation, exploring soil-landscape modeling, and promoting sustainable land management.
Prior to this role, Feras held the position of Senior Scientist at ICARDA and served as an Associate Professor at the University of Jordan. He also plays a pivotal role in coordinating the FAO flagship report titled "The State of the World's Land and Water Resources for Food and Agriculture – SOLAW" and is coordinating the update of the “FAO Guidelines on Integrated Land Use Planning”. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the UN Coalition on Combating Sand and Dust Storms.
