The 59th GEF Council meeting online from December 7-11. It will be preceded by a consultation with civil society on December 4. The Council meeting will be focused on ways to assist developing countries emerge stronger from the coronavirus pandemic and consider a $400 million work program.  Other issues on the agenda include a new private sector engagement strategy, relations with the UN environmental conventions, and the eighth replenishment of the GEF Trust Fund. More information on the meeting is available here https://www.thegef.org/events/59th-gef-council-meeting
