The symposium is co-organized by the China National Sand Control and Desert Industry Society, the Department of Forestry and Grasslands of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the Inner Mongolia Agriculture University, and is jointly supported by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the People’s Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the China Green Foundation.

The objectives of the symposium:

• evaluate the impact of desertification and land degradation in the context of global climate change
• share the research progress on global conservation and restoration as well as the sustainable land management technologies and practices
• explore way to adapt science and research  to the needs of sustainable development
• strengthen the development and the exchange of top professional talent for developing solutions for desertification and land degradation as well as ecological sustainability.

The symposium is calling for papers on these subjects. The selected papers will be distributed and shared with the participants. Those seeking an opportunity to make presentation at the symposium are requested to submit a PPT presentation.
