Call for members and observers Science-Policy Interface

The UNCCD invites experts to apply to become members of the Science-Policy Interface (SPI) which was established in 2013 to promote dialog between scientists and policy-makers on desertification, land degradation and drought. The public call for candidature opens on 7 November 2017 and will end on 4 December 2017 at 24:00 CET.
Call for members
The call is open to scientists from all regions and organizations and all relevant disciplines and thematic areas. Experts fulfilling the requirements/criteria listed in the call for scientists are invited to:
- Carefully read the Terms of Reference of the SPI;
- Complete the SPI Application Form (in English);
- Submit the filled out Application Form and curriculum vitae (four pages maximum, in English) to: %20spi [at] unccd.int (spi[at]unccd[dot]int) by the deadline.
Call for observers
Concurrently, the UNCCD also invites international organizations and United Nations organizations qualified in matters relevant to the UNCCD and wishing to become observer to the SPI to express their interest. Organizations fulfilling the criteria listed in the call for international organizations and United Nations organizations are invited:
- Carefully read the Terms of Reference of the SPI;
- Submit a letter of intent addressing the below-listed requirements/selection criteria to: %20SPI [at] unccd.int (spi[at]unccd[dot]in)t by the deadline
- Submit the curriculum vitae (four pages maximum, in English) of the person who would represent the organization as an observer.
The selection process will be conducted by the Bureau of the UNCCD Committee on Science and Technology. Selected scientists and organizations will be contacted individually.
