COP14: African countries discuss regional position in future negotiations

Pretoria, South Africa – Representatives of 48 African countries are attending the regional preparatory meeting on the eve of UNCCD COP14 to review the conference agenda and discuss the regional position during the upcoming negotiations.
Keynote speakers include representatives of AUC, The African Group, UNCCD Executive Secretary Mr. Ibrahim Thiaw and the South African Deputy Minister of environment, forestry and fisheries Ms. Makhotso Magdeline Sotyu. The meeting that gathered at the invitation of the government of South Africa is fully financed by the AUC and its partners.
