ECOSISTEMAS (ISSN 1697-2473) is the scientific journal on ecology and the environment of the Spanish Association of Terrestrial Ecology. Since 2001 it has been published exclusively in electronic format on a quarterly basis.
ECOSISTEMAS publishes original scientific articles on ecology and the environment, including research on organisms, populations, communities and ecosystems, biological interactions, paleoecology, ecophysiology, eco-evolution and ecosystem processes, as well as on anthropogenic disturbances and their effects at the ecological and environmental levels.
All contributions must be original and not have been previously published in the scientific literature. Only works of a scientific nature that present new data adequately analyzed or novel literature review works that constitute an important contribution to the subject will be considered for publication. Descriptive papers without a detailed interpretation and discussion of the ecological meaning that can be drawn from the written results, those that reflect personal opinion, or that are purely speculative with no clear results to support the conclusions described, will be rejected at the editorial level.
