On July 4, 2019, women leaders of grassroots organizations from Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe came together to form the Feminist Land Platform.
This global platform seeks to eliminate the roots of inequalities related to women's land rights, highlight women's leadership, and highlight feminist perspectives in all struggles for land and territories, as well as act on other gender justice issues.
FLP is a strategic inclusive space for feminist organizations and leaders from the Global South working on women’s land rights and gender justice.
The organizations that formed the Platform, follow our own paths of resistance, fighting for gender equality in our communities in adverse conditions. FLP's work reflects the realities and demands of our collective experiences.
The current member organizations of the Feminist Platform for the Earth are Fundación Plurales (Argentina), Espaço Feminista (Brazil), Luna Creciente (Ecuador), PWESCR (India), AZUL (Morocco), Fórum Mulher (Mozambique), MUDECI (Mexico), Pastoral Women's Council (Tanzania), Tin Hinane (Mali) and UBINIG (Bangladesh).
In different regions of the Global South, whether in Africa, Asia or Latin America, pressures on land, territories and resources are increasing exponentially. This pressure disproportionately affects women's lives and livelihoods. Whether in urban or rural areas, women face problems related to inequality of rights. Through international solidarity and networking, we can achieve effective change.
