This report considers migration in the context of environmental change over the next 50 years. The scope of this report is international: it examines global migration trends, but also internal migration trends particularly within low-income countries, which are often more important in this context. This paper presents the scenario narratives and data developed as part of the Foresight Migration and Global Environmental Change project. It also explains about the purpose of the scenarios and their use in the project, and the process undertaken to develop them. Annexes A-E contain data used for the construction of the four scenarios, with some preliminary discussion of migration consequences, including those linked to environmental change.
