The manual brings us a valuable set of terms and concepts from the UNCCD and other international agreements in three different languages, covering a quite wide number of potential users of the available information. In this regard, this publication can be very useful not only for the Brazilian public and Latin Americans, but also for those African Portuguese and English speaking countries.

It is worth to emphasize that this glossary is a first step in the process of having a common ground for the understanding what the Convention to Combat Desertification is and how it works. The glossary brings to our partners in both continents a common ground for starting a real awareness process with authorities and the general public about desertification and
to foster the cooperation in Latin America and Africa as well.
