In recent years, multilateral agencies and others have put forward the concept of ‘climatesmart’ agriculture (CSA) as an inherently multi-sectoral approach to synergistically achieve climate change adaptation,
mitigation, and food security – a ‘triple win’ – while minimizing potential negative trade-offs. CSA is envisioned to support national food security and development through sustainable agricultural intensification, increased biophysical and socio-economic resilience, and net reduction in agricultural greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
