Restoration Ecology, Volume 29, Issue 2, February 2021 is now available on the Wiley Online Library.
In the covid-19 world, researchers are like everyone else - pressured, fogged, and trying to cope with the situation. With this issue of the Arid Lands feature, we appreciate more than ever the efforts of our authors, reviewers, editors, staff, and financial supporters.
We have excellent papers on strategic level approaches - improving restoration success in arid lands, collaboration challenges, how to spot opportunities for restoration - and technical advice on how to recolonize sand dunes, how to select the right materials with the best traits in restoration in arid lands, and soil salinity impacts on mangrove restoration.
For those focused on ecological restoration in arid lands, this ongoing special feature is intended to give practitioners and researchers the vehicle to raise the profile of this important type of habitat - one that is common on our planet but had been neglected as too many people glibly equated 'arid' with 'lifeless'. As our authors show, there is much life and much opportunity for restoration in arid lands.
