Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
The Environmental and Economic Resource Centre (EERC) promotes sustainable land management, climate-smart agriculture, and resilient livelihoods across sub-Saharan Africa. Through research, policy dialogue, and capacity building, EERC empowers communities and stakeholders to restore degraded lands and combat desertification; advancing the UNCCD’s goals of land degradation neutrality, environmental sustainability, and inclusive development.
Ecological Balance Cameroon works in Cameroon to restore degraded lands, protect watersheds and promote sustainable land use through community-led forest restoration, regenerative agriculture and nature-based enterprises. By preventing land degradation, improving soil & water health and empowering local communities especially women and youth to build climate resilience, we align with the UNCCD goals.
PSM Charity empowers women, youth, and children in Uganda through sustainable agriculture, reforestation, and climate-resilient farming. Our programs combat land degradation, promote soil regeneration, and support community-led environmental stewardship—directly contributing to the goals of the UNCCD.
Tsevett Agro Services empowers rural communities in Uganda to build resilience against land degradation and climate change through agroforestry, GIS-based land restoration mapping, sustainable agriculture, youth and women empowerment, and environmental education. Our work aligns with the UNCCD’s goals of combating desertification, restoring degraded land, and promoting sustainable land use practices.
Okere City promotes sustainable rural development through land restoration, shea tree conservation, climate-smart agriculture, and community-led reforestation. Its work aligns with the UNCCD by combating desertification, enhancing ecosystem services, and empowering local communities—especially women—to manage natural resources sustainably and build climate resilience.
ISHAKA 2250 is very engaged in adaptation & vulnerability, Forestry, mitigation and migration initiatives and here are some key activities we undertake: - Capacity Building and Training - Advocacy and Awareness: to support vulnerable communities, amplify youth voices and ensuring their concerns and ideas are heard by decision-makers. - Reforestation and Afforestation: planting trees and restoring degraded forests. - Youth campaigns to reduce CO2 individually and as a group. - KDMECC process
Ashar Alo Society works to empower marginalized communities, particularly women, youth, and gender-diverse groups, through climate resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and social justice initiatives. Our activities include awareness, capacity building, and advocacy on environmental sustainability, land degradation, and gender-inclusive climate action—aligning with the goals of the UNCCD.
VIEWS (Voluntary Integration for Education and Welfare of Society) envisions a self-reliant and inclusive Odisha, where vulnerable communities—especially women, youth, children, persons with disabilities, and indigenous populations—thrive in peace, dignity, and economic security. Our mission is to empower these communities through innovative, community-led solutions in livelihoods, education, and climate resilience that generate measurable and lasting socio-economic impact.
Fundación de la Tierra es una organización socio-ambiental sin fines de lucro de acción para la sostenibilidad fundada en 2014. En conjunto con Bayka, una empresa de regeneración y conservación de ecosistemas, lleva a cabo actividades de conservación, educación y restauración ambiental. Ambas organizaciones trabajan en conjunto desde el año 2018 con el propósito de regenerar zonas deforestadas con suelos empobrecidos. Su misión no es sólo ambiental, sino también social y cultural.
Our work spans local invasive clearing including in peatlands and riparian zones, biodiversity restoration, education awareness raising, supporting people to reconnect with nature, and supporting wider systems change to enable a thriving ecosystems and biodiversity. We work with local community crews and contractors to support nature-positive work. We also facilitate a network of over 100 local groups and organisations involved in invasive clearing across the Cape Floristic Region.
