Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.

CERASA's primary themes relevant to UNCCD include climate resilience, food security, and sustainable agriculture. Our activities focus on building resilient communities through agricultural support and education. We conduct research on climate change impacts on food security and small-scale farmers, particularly in vulnerable regions like South Kivu. We provide training for developing agri-food businesses and offer agricultural financing to support local producers.
We are a civil association committed to promoting practices that foster a sense of awareness and integration with nature and the conservation of biodiversity in the native forests of the central mountains of San Luis, Argentina. Our environmental and cultural program is based on education and experience in the Quebrada del Palmar Nature Reserve.
ACDT promotes environmental conservation by mitigating climate change effects, encouraging eco-friendly initiatives, tree planting, and renewable energy adoption. We economically empower communities, especially women, through Village Savings and Loan Associations, vocational training, financial literacy workshops, and entrepreneurship programs. We address food insecurity by promoting sustainable food production, and educating on nutrition.
Agroecology aims to achieve sustainable agriculture for food security and climate mitigation. Environmental protection and biodiversity conservation focus on preserving ecosystems, reforestation, and habitat restoration and combat desertification and land degradation, mitigate the effects of drought, and promote sustainable land management . Finally, the gender and volunteering focus promotes social justice and community empowerment through education and civic engagement.
Action for Positive Change (APC) promotes sustainable land management to combat land degradation, enhance climate change adaptation, and improve food security in Zambia. We support climate-resilient agriculture, forestry regeneration, soil conservation, and water management, working with rural communities to protect ecosystems, restore degraded lands, and strengthen livelihoods.
The Research Center for Environmental Planning (RCEP) works to combat land degradation, deforestation, and biodiversity loss in the Congo Basin. We implement community-led restoration, sustainable land management, and GIS-based monitoring, focusing on degraded lands from artisanal mining to enhance ecosystem services and livelihoods.
Chisomo Youth Organisation (CYO) is a youth-led NGO in Karonga, Malawi, dedicated to combating land degradation, promoting sustainable land management, climate resilience, and environmental stewardship. We empower communities especially young people through awareness, advocacy, capacity building, and nature-based solutions to restore degraded ecosystems and enhance livelihoods.
Our organization works in the renewable energy sector and climate change mitigation. We focus on promoting sustainable energy solutions, such as solar power, to reduce carbon emissions and support community resilience. Our activities include training, awareness raising, and implementing renewable energy projects that contribute to environmental sustainability and help combat land degradation,
Eco Clean Active Initiative aims to address environmental issues, promote the welfare of the environment, and enhance sustainable development across the globe. ECA carries out community sensitization campaigns on environmental protection and preservation by conducting awareness in schools, marketplaces, and local communities. ECA carries out tree planting projects through afforestation and reforestation initiatives and also engages policymakers and stakeholders, pushing for climate-friendly policies.
