Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
NIRMAN is a not for profit organization, established in 1997, with footprint in 3 States (Odisha, Assam and Chhattisgarh of India), 14 districts, 45 blocks, and 2547 villages. We are working on the thematic areas of food system transformation through agroecology, landscape restoration and responses, and knowledge co-creation. It has facilitated vesting of Community Forest Resource (CFR) rights under the empowering legislation of “The Forest Rights Act, 2006” in favor of 156 tribal villages.
Bio Conservation Club, founded in 2022, empowers schools and communities through environmental education, climate change awareness, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration and WASH initiatives. Using a community-based approach, we build local capacity, promote sustainable land use, and inspire youth to take action for a healthier environment and resilient future.
QXote facilitates regenerative education and action through trainings, field weeks, internships, and challenges. We develop ecological and social projects on climate adaptation, biodiversity, sustainable food, and circular economy. Our work supports reforestation, landscape restoration, community resilience, and partnerships advancing the UNCCD goals.
PROSDOMA supports newcomer integration in Alberta, Canada, while promoting sustainable agriculture in Africa. We empower rural communities in Africa through training and resources, offering job assistance, legal aid, and access to social services. Committed to environmental protection, we've planted over one million trees and advocate for climate change awareness. Our goal is to empower individuals and foster environmental responsibility through education and community engagement.
The Instituto Anjos do Sertão promotes sustainable land management in Brazil’s semi-arid region through honey and cashew value chains, carbon projects, and community polyculture. We integrate reforestation, soil restoration, water management, and rural education to combat desertification, improve livelihoods, and empower local youth with regenerative practices.
OPPD Kenya promotes sustainable development and peace among pastoralist communities through climate resilience, land restoration, natural resource management, conflict mitigation, and advocacy. We engage in capacity building, education, and community-driven land conservation and alternative livelihoods across arid and semi-arid lands in Northern Kenya.

The core of their work involves a three-pronged approach: Ecotourism Development, Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation and Community-Integrated Livelihood Improvement.
YOFONAT empowers youth and women in Malawi to promote sustainable land management, climate resilience, and restoration of degraded lands. Through community engagement, capacity building, and awareness campaigns, we support practices that combat land degradation, enhance soil fertility, and strengthen local adaptation to climate change, contributing to UNCCD objectives and sustainable livelihoods.
Humanitarian Organization for Poverty Eradication (NGO) works across Pakistan to address environmental protection, education, health, water, and sanitation. We focus on sustainable land use, climate resilience, and awareness programs to combat desertification and land degradation. Our activities include community-based initiatives, capacity building, and promoting eco-friendly practices aligned with UNCCD goals.
