Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
Youth in Action Baidoa (YIA Baidoa) is an independent registered non-government and nonprofit civil society organization based at South/West State, Somalia. YIA prime motto is capacity building and services delivery to the deprived and marginalized people. In October 2020, a group of intellectuals, dynamic, and like-minded youth from different workings of life in the development sector have got together establishing an organization.
Greenstand develops open-source technology to track, verify and incentivize ecosystem restoration at scale. We empower communities to grow and monitor trees, linking environmental action with livelihood creation. Our tools support transparent land restoration, carbon sequestration, and sustainable development, aligning with the UNCCD’s goals to combat desertification and promote land stewardship.
Meg Wah combats deforestation in Cameroon and the Congo Basin through ecosystem-based approaches, agroforestry, afforestation, and permaculture. It empowers youth via EcoKids and outdoor education, promotes organic farming with indigenous seeds, improves water access, advocates for sustainable policies, and trains youth leaders for environmental and social change.
The objects for which the Society is established are: (a) to promote the advancement of the science and art of using Australia's rangeland resources for all purposes commensurate with their continued productivity and stability; (b) to encourage and develop an awareness of the need to conserve the inherent resources of Australia's rangeland areas; (c) to encourage and reward the study of rangeland science and improved rangeland management

Global Village Cameroon promotes environmental protection, sustainable land management, and community resilience. Our work includes capacity building, advocacy, and participatory actions with local and indigenous communities to combat land degradation, enhance biodiversity, and adapt to climate change in line with UNCCD objectives.
Kairos Initiative empowers women in rural and urban communities through backyard sack farming, teaching them to grow vegetables at home in sacks. This ensures access to nutritious meals and strengthens food security, especially in Northern Nigeria where insecurity limits access to farmlands. Our approach promotes nutrition and sustainable livelihoods.
One World One Family Foundation Malawi works to combat land degradation, desertification, and drought through community-led tree planting, land restoration, and water conservation. We empower youth via climate clubs, sustainable farming training, and clean-up campaigns, restoring degraded land, protecting rivers, and building resilience for rural communities across Malawi.
Vahatra Analalava is a Malagasy NGO engaged in education, reforestation, marine conservation, and cultural activities for children. It offers French language courses, restores mangroves and terrestrial forests, protects the lagoon, and manages a community library. Its work combines environmental, educational, scientific, and social actions to support local communities in Analalava District.
EPA Syria promotes sustainable land and water management to combat desertification and mitigate climate impacts. Our work includes reforestation, watershed protection, soil rehabilitation, and awareness programs. We engage communities in restoring degraded land, supporting biodiversity, and developing adaptive strategies aligned with UNCCD principles for a resilient environment.”
