Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.

Vijana Life Organization empowers youth to lead sustainable development initiatives in Tanzania, focusing on water access, sanitation, hygiene, environmental conservation, and climate resilience. Through capacity building, education, awareness campaigns, and community projects, VILO strengthens youth participation in sustainable land and water management, linking local actions to broader UNCCD goals.

Foundation for Empowerment and Human Rights Promotion (FEHRP) promotes sustainable land management, ecosystem restoration, and community resilience to combat desertification and drought. Through education, advocacy, and partnerships, FEHRP empowers communities across Nigeria and beyond to protect the environment and promote sustainable development.
By formulating the China Farm Animal Welfare Standards, introducing smart pasture systems, promoting low-density farming and native grass-feeding, ICCAW have reduced overgrazing pressure, minimized land pollution on pastures, lowered carbon emission intensity, and decreased water waste to contribute to achieving the "Land Degradation Neutrality" (LDN) goal.
Our primary aims include restoring degraded lands, enhancing biodiversity, and fostering community resilience. Key activities involve the ASYARF Rescue Team's interventions in affected areas, educational programs on sustainable practices, and disaster management initiatives. We advocate for proactive measures to address environmental challenges and support vulnerable communities in adapting to climate impacts.

Coalition of Somali Human Rights Defenders (CSHRD) works to promote environmental justice and human rights in Somalia, recognizing the link between land degradation, drought, and community vulnerability. CSHRD advocates for sustainable land management, supports awareness on climate resilience, and engages communities in protecting ecosystems and livelihoods affected by desertification and drought. The work of CSHRD is guided by the SDGs and UDHR.
