Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
To provide competence based , industry oriented technical and vocational training in a holistic learning environment. The aim is to address the urgent need for individuals trained in matters climate-smart agriculture with emphasis on regenerative farming while conserving the soil and protecting the environment. All the activities are centred on sustainable farming for all the crops and livestock projects. Activities are centred on agriculture research, innovation, education and outreach.
Plantarse collaborates with governments, ecological reserves, companies, schools, and social organizations to implement big scale ecological restoration projects, volunteer programs, and environmental education initiatives. Our approach integrates ecosystem restoration, community engagement, and environmental awareness to achieve meaningful and lasting impact—bringing together diverse sectors and supporting local communities in their role as active stewards of the environment.
Fundación MAPA trabaja en la restauración ecológica de espacios urbanos y periurbanos, promoviendo la renaturalización, la educación ambiental y la participación comunitaria. Sus iniciativas contribuyen a la protección de la biodiversidad, la resiliencia al cambio climático y el uso sostenible del suelo, abordando problemáticas como la degradación ambiental, la pérdida de cobertura vegetal y el acceso desigual a entornos saludables.
L’ONG Action Sociale promeut la lutte contre la désertification par la sensibilisation à la gestion durable des ressources naturelles. En 2024, elle a formé plus de 2000 jeunes à la fabrication d’emballages biodégradables et mène régulièrement des campagnes de sensibilisation à la propreté des espaces publics et scolaires, contribuant ainsi à la préservation de l’environnement.
ELOHIM Foundation aims to promote sustainable human development by addressing conflict, socio-economic challenges, and environmental issues. We advance green practices, climate adaptation, smart agriculture, and disaster response. Through people-centered approaches, we engage in research, innovation, and policy advocacy. Our work aligns with UNCCD goals via partnerships, capacity building, inclusion, and rights-based strategies across development and humanitarian contexts.
Africa Foundation Trust AKA Wild Impact supports the conservation of wild landscapes and seascapes and the sustainable development of the communities that live in and around these areas, with the vision of partner communities being actively advocating for and supporting the restoration and conservation efforts, while deriving meaningful socio-economic and entrepreneurial benefit from these areas.
Manav Seva Sansthan SEVA focuses on sustainable land use, climate resilience, and community empowerment in drought-prone and riverine regions of North India. Our work aligns with UNCCD by promoting land restoration, low-input agriculture (LEISA), and livelihood security for vulnerable communities, especially women, migrants, and marginalized groups in cross-border corridors .
Women Concern (WOCO) is a grassroots organization committed to promoting gender equality by empowering rural women and girls through sustainable land management and eco-livelihoods. Our work focuses on land restoration, agroforestry, clean cooking solutions, and climate resilience. We champion women's leadership in the fight against climate change, advancing inclusive, community-led approaches that strengthen resilience and drive lasting environmental and social impact.
Rights and Resilience Gender Advocacy Foundation focuses on combating gender-based violence, empowering marginalized communities, and promoting resilience through advocacy, education, and legal support. Our activities include community workshops, media campaigns, and educational programs to address gender inequality and environmental degradation's disproportionate impact on women and children. We align with UNCCD by fostering sustainable community engagement and resilience-building initiatives.
The organization has experience to work under the following areas but not limited to; Human Rights, Women Empowerment, Disaster risk reduction, Human and Institutional Development, Health and Hygiene, Social Mobilization, Mobilization school management committees, capacity building, monitoring, evaluation and research, education, infrastructure development, capacity building, advocacy and awareness.
