Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
Lawfully achieve the objectives of the society. Promotion, development and implementation of development projects/programmes that seek to empower and benefit the poor. To undertake projects in relation to integrated rural and tribal development aimed at total development of humanity. Initiate programmes for the development of Rural and Tribal poor, with their participation. Organization of social action programs to alleviate injustice and inequality.
The GDA Oasis Centre Gabès promotes sustainable land and water management in oasis ecosystems. It manages key irrigation systems, supports farmers in combating desertification, and strengthens local resilience to land degradation through community-based practices, policy engagement, and agroecological development in arid rural areas.
Altwasul for Human Development implements sustainable development programs in Yemen, focusing on environmental protection, land rehabilitation, and climate-resilient livelihoods. Activities include reforestation, water harvesting, sustainable agriculture, and community-based natural resource management to combat desertification and promote land restoration.
Football Without Borders-Kenya uses football to mobilise communities for land restoration, tree planting, agroforestry, and climate change resilience. We train youth and women in sustainable land management, soil conservation, and ecosystem restoration to combat desertification and improve livelihoods.

Chipembere Community Development Organisation focuses on ecosystem management, promoting sustainable land use and restoration of degraded areas.
