Geneva Peace Week 2025
-
Geneva, Switzerland
-
13 - 17 October 2025
Join us at Geneva Peace Week 2025 for the “Land Restoration as a Pathway to Peace and Security” panel, co-organized by the UNCCD and the Geneva Centre for Security Policy.
Restoring degraded land is more than an environmental goal — it’s a powerful way to reduce fragility, foster cooperation and strengthen resilience in communities worldwide. How can we connect the dots between land, climate, peace and security and move from vision to action?
This event brings together experts, policymakers and practitioners to explore how evidence from the ground, innovative tools and inclusive financing can turn environmental risks into opportunities for peace and stability:
- Anna Brach, Head of Human Security and Planetary Resilience, Geneva Centre for Security Policy
- Justin Mundy, Co-founder of the Mapping Pathways for Security; Chairman of SLM Partners, Chairman of Earthna Center of the Qatar Foundation.
- Nazanine Moshiri, Senior Advisor Climate & Peace, Strategic Partnerships, Berghof Foundation
- Kheira Tarif, Researcher, Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Climate Change and Risk Programme
- Utchang Kang, Programme Manager, Global Mechanism of the UNCCD
