Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
Nature Talk Africa (NaTA) is a youth-led nonprofit in Uganda advancing climate justice, land rights, and sustainable livelihoods. Working in oil-affected regions, NaTA empowers communities through land restoration, agroecology, environmental advocacy, and resilience-building. It supports women, youth, and Indigenous groups to restore degraded landscapes and promote equitable, community-led solutions.
Goshen’s Fountain of Nutrition and Health advances sustainable land use through urban and organic farming, climate-smart agriculture, and nutrition education. We transform urban spaces into productive farms using innovative techniques, promote WASH, and empower youth and women to combat land degradation, food insecurity, and malnutrition—aligning with UNCCD goals of resilience and desertification control.
The Center for Environmental and Sustainable Agricultural Research (CESAR) is dedicated to advancing sustainable solutions for Nepal’s environmental challenges. Through interdisciplinary research, innovation, consulting, and technical support, CESAR addresses critical areas such as sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation, education, disaster resilience, public health and nutrition, and spatial digital management.
Habitat for Humanity Uganda (HFHU) enhances climate and land tenure resilience through secure land access, climate-resilient housing, WASH infrastructure, and sustainable livelihoods. HFHU supports land restoration, soil protection, and improved natural resource use by promoting sustainable construction, afforestation, and land rights for vulnerable communities.
L'ONG a pour objectifs : œuvrer pour l'amélioration du niveau de vie des populations rurales et urbaines africaines ; œuvrer pour la cohésion et l'inclusion sociale ; renforcer les bases d'un développement durable par la maitrise des contraintes liées à l'agriculture et à la gestion des ressources naturelles. Les domaines d'activités concernent : l'agriculture biologique, le Changement climatique ; la Conservation de la biodiversité et Sécurité alimentaire ; la promotion du genre.
Primary themes: Land restoration, sustainable agriculture, youth and women empowerment, climate resilience. Aims and activities: TAMA promotes climate-smart agriculture and agroecology to restore degraded lands, trains youth and women in sustainable farming practices, and supports community-led initiatives that build soil health, conserve water, and enhance biodiversity in dryland regions—aligned with UNCCD goals on land degradation neutrality.
L'ONG ATPDC agit sur trois fronts : climat, biodiversité et désertification. Son objectif est de rendre les communautés rurales résilientes en promouvant auto-écologie, la restauration des écosystèmes (reboisement) et la finance carbone communautaire. L'ONG forme les agriculteurs à des pratiques durables et les aide à monétiser leurs efforts de préservation de l'environnement.
Healthy Environment and Lifestyles Initiative (HEaL) promotes sustainable land use, climate adaptation, and public health through education, community engagement, and research.
ASCOM, intervient dans le domaine de la protection de l'environnement et la lutte contre les changements climatiques; Elle fait la restauration des terres dégradées, la gestion de l'eau, la lutte contre la pollution par la promotion des énergies renouvelables, le reboisement, la formation sur les questions environnementales, la sensibilisation et plaidoyer pour lutter contre la déforestation.
FFHC aim to improve food security through increased food production; improve farmer’s access to investment resources through rural financial intermediation e.g. (VISACAs) in rural areas; and, strengthen rural grassroots farmer institutions for a productive and sustainable agriculture.
