Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
The Thousand Year Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to the expansion, protection, and restoration of temperate rainforest. We work to reverse land degradation through science-led restoration, community engagement, and sustainable land management, enhancing biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and climate resilience in alignment with UNCCD goals.

X-Strats Impact Hub is a hybrid NGO and consultancy working globally to promote land preservation, sustainable livelihoods, and community resilience. We partner with local and international actors to deliver projects on environmental protection, women’s empowerment, education, and humanitarian aid. Our work aligns with UNCCD goals by addressing land degradation, promoting sustainable land use, and supporting vulnerable communities.
Green Hut Trust is a youth-led organization in Zimbabwe advancing climate adaptation and sustainable land use. Our programs focus on food security, agroforestry, reforestation, and science-based solutions to combat land degradation. Through community training, smart waste innovation, and urban farming, we promote climate resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and ecological restoration in vulnerable urban and peri-urban areas.
Improving Youth behaviour; sensitising on gender roles disability and right in development; uplifting adolescent literacy; promoting modern agriculture; vocational training; promoting reproductive health; and environmental conservation.
Through advocacy, education, peacebuilding, and environmental initiatives, YWCA Kenya empowers women and local communities to address key thematic areas focusing on climate adaptation and resilience & promoting sustainable land management through sustainable urban farming. Mitigation efforts include marine and terrestrial reforestation. YWCA Kenya fosters UN Convention synergy by aligning with UNCCD goals, advocating for gender-inclusive policies and collaborating across frameworks like UNFCCC.
SUD CONSEILS, ONG mauritanienne, agit en agriculture, élevage, environnement et mobilisation communautaire pour renforcer la résilience rurale. Elle forme, conseille et structure les producteurs, restaure les terres, lutte contre l’érosion, sensibilise au climat. Avec des partenaires comme la FAO et le PAM, elle réalise aménagements, appuis techniques et plans communautaires, intervenant dans toutes les wilayas grâce à une expertise reconnue.

Central to this vision is our commitment to securing additional land within the Dinokeng Game Reserve. This critical acquisition will extend protected space for wildlife and lay the foundation for our sanctuary’s evolution into a fully-fledged rehabilitation and rewilding center.
To carry out non-profit environmental management and development activities in consonance with national policies, international treaties, local needs and aspirations. The activities are in the following areas: sound chemicals management, sound wastes management, sustainable natural resources management and vulnerable communities support, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and capacity building for institutions and other target groups.
Natural Resource Management is a primary ICE thematic area which aims at restoration of degraded forest ecosystems and improving community livelihoods. This is achieved through activities such as tree planting, support of tree nurseries establishment, protection and conservation of natural resources, capacity building trainings, promotion of sustainable agroecological practices and non-timber enterprises.
