Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
GCG is a national NGO dedicated to environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, and community resilience. We restore degraded ecosystems, promote renewable energy, and implement climate-smart agriculture. Through education, advocacy, and collaborative natural resource governance, we empower communities to adopt sustainable practices. GCG also facilitates conflict resolution and green value chain development, fostering a sustainable future for people and nature.
ECO FAWN Society focuses on environmental conservation, sustainable land management, and biodiversity protection. Our initiatives align with the UNCCD process through afforestation, combating desertification, restoring degraded land, and addressing invasive alien species. We engage in policy advocacy, research, and community-driven conservation efforts to promote ecosystem resilience, sustainable agriculture, and climate action.

Institute of Climate and Environment (ICE) at SIMAD University tackles climate, land degradation, and sustainability challenges in Somalia. ICE advances land restoration, climate resilience, and sustainable resource management through research, policy advocacy, and capacity-building. Activities include climate justice incubation, environmental education, innovation-driven land solutions, and community engagement for sustainable land use and drought mitigation.
Champions for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Youth is a diverse youth-led organization working toward positive youth development, their meaningful involvement, just and inclusive societies. The organization hosts regular hybrid information sessions, dialogues and conferences to reach out to young people, educate them about Sustainable Development; including current topical issues such as climate action, and carry out policy advocacy.

Jeunes Acteurs de l'Énergie (JAE) promotes sustainable energy solutions and climate resilience in Africa, focusing on youth engagement in renewable energy, land restoration, and sustainable agriculture. JAE empowers communities through advocacy, capacity building, and clean energy projects that combat desertification and land degradation, aligning with the UNCCD’s goals for sustainable land management and climate adaptation.
Fruity Schools Africa works towards sustainable land management through afforestation and agroforestry by establishing fruit orchards in public schools. Our key focus areas are food security, climate change mitigation, environmental conservation, and youth empowerment. We aim to address child malnutrition, climate vulnerability, and land degradation by planting fruit trees and training youth as climate stewards.
GPDO aim to advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals SDGs, focusing on human rights, poverty alleviation, biodiversity, plastic Pollute agriculture, climate change, and community development. We promote food security, reduce rural poverty, and support sustainable agricultural practices through training and economic initiatives. Our activities include promoting voluntarism, engaging in environmental conservation, and providing education for underprivileged women, aligning UNCCD processes.
