Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
IITC has participated for 2 decades in various sessions and COPs of the UNFCCC and CBD, addressing impacts of Climate Change and biodiversity loss on the rights, lands, waters, food and knowledge systems and ways of life of Indigenous Peoples. The issues addressed by the UNCCD are interconnected and cross cutting with those processes and we look forward to addressing these vital interrelated concerns at UNCCD.
The United Confederation of Taíno People (UCTP) is an indigenous representative institution established in 1998 to promote the self-determination and protection of the human rights, culture, traditions, sacred lands and waters of Taíno and other Caribbean Indigenous Peoples. The UCTP serves as a forum for educational advocacy and policy development to affirm and safeguard Taíno and other indigenous Caribbean cultural heritage and spiritual traditions.
Hatua kwa Hatua translates to Step by step. Our vision is to build healthier and economically empowered communities without compromising the rights of women and youth. Our objective is to advocate for climate change adaptation and resilience, focusing on empowering women and youth to address the impacts of climate change and build sustainable futures. Our approaches include community focus, digital health, capacity strengthening and participatory research approaches.

Notre organisation couvre plusieurs voles auqu' elle intervient, en ce qui cadre avec les objectifs du UNCCD, GASAP n'est pas epargne dans ce but. Il intervient dans la lutte contre la desertification et l'innondation dans ses zones d'interventions. Nous avons execute un projet de reboisement et protection de l'environnement ou nous avons plante les arbres dans la plaine de la RUZIZI. Nous avons aussi execute un projet de la lutte contre l'innondation dans le territoire d'Uvira.
