Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.

The organization has been working on conservation efforts of restoring degraded agricultural farmlands, riparian areas and schools as well as capacity building to rural farmers on sustainable farming methods. We support farmers plant beneficial agroforestry trees in their farmlands for socio-economic, ecological and environmental benefits to the local community. We build climate resilience area through supporting farmers plant beneficial agroforestry trees that help combat climate change.
Aalem for Orphan and Vulnerable Children, Inc.'s (AOVC) aims and activities related to the UNCCD process focus on ensuring that the needs and rights of children are considered in land degradation efforts, particularly in the context of drought and desertification. This includes establishing frameworks for child-sensitive action, fostering youth participation, and promoting sustainable land management practices that protect children's well-being.
The overall goal of union of Community Development Volunteers is to contribute to the well-being of humanity especially the less privileged with humanitarian intervention to enable them thrive. Our objectives are; 1) To provide clean water access to the thirsty communities. 2) To mitigate climate change 3) To protect the environment 4) To create initiatives geared about addressing poverty.
Center for Empowerment is officially registered charity organization operating in not-for-profit status in Ethiopia. It engages in climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies at local and national levels. Besides these, it strives to boost agricultural production and market stabilization for small holder farmers. Migration of children and labor is another focus area. Moreover, the organization focuses on improvements of water, food and nutrition security of community under operation.
MCDI empowers 100 rural communities in Tanzania to conserve over 700,000ha of natural forest, with 200,000ha certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Through secure user rights and sustainable management, communities benefit from responsible timber sales and reinvest in local development, aligning conservation with poverty alleviation.
Viva Life & Nature Conservative Initiative, promotes sustainable land management, reforestation, climate-smart agriculture, and restoration of degraded lands in vulnerable communities. Our activities support desertification control, community resilience, and biodiversity conservation through education, advocacy, and nature-based solutions in dryland and semi-arid regions of Nigeria.

Community Advocate for Rural Development (CARD) promotes sustainable land use, climate-smart agriculture, and clean energy to combat desertification and land degradation. Our activities include farmer training on composting, agroforestry, water conservation, and production of eco-friendly stoves and briquettes,supporting the UNCCD’s goals of land restoration, resilience building, and rural livelihoods.
