Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
We work with communities to advocate and protect human rights, save, and improve lives of most vulnerable, poorest, and marginalized families affected by poverty and/or crisis, and empower women and children to reach their full potential. We support vulnerable populations particularly female headed households (with/without disabilities) to cope with and adapt effects of climate change in Somalia
Eco mappers- OpenStreetMap Community of Rwanda is a community youth Mappers that aims to address the challenges of biodiversity loss, pollution, and Geospatial Data provisions to meet Disaster challenges and climate change through innovative solutions and advocacy. Since its establishment in 2016, OpenStreetMap Rwanda has been actively working towards creating environmental sustainability by leveraging the power of mapping technologies and engaging a diverse network of volunteers and partners.
Total LandCare Tanzania promotes sustainable land management practices, climate resilience, and rural livelihoods through agroforestry, soil and water conservation, reforestation, and farmer-led extension services. Our work aligns with UNCCD goals by addressing land degradation, enhancing ecosystem services, and supporting communities to restore and sustainably use natural resources.
Comme son nom l'indique, APEM est une ONG créée depuis 1992 pour participer aux efforts de lutte contre la désertification qui gagne de plus en plus de terrain notamment en Mauritanie qui figure parmi les pays du sahel les plus touchés par ce fléau. Elle avait pu participer au 1er sommet de la Terre de Rio 92. Notre président assure aussi celle des Ecovillages en Mauritanie par un réseau regroupant plusieurs ONG locales. L'ONG APEM dispose de programmes variés sur le développement durable.
Plus One Tree Initiative is a youth-led environmental organization working to combat land degradation through reforestation, agroforestry, and community-based restoration. We promote Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) by establishing tree nurseries, restoring degraded landscapes, and training youth and women in sustainable land use practices aligned with UNCCD goals.

Bright Light Projects (BLP) focuses on sustainable development and land degradation neutrality through reforestation, environmental education, and community empowerment. BLP implements tree-planting initiatives and educational programs for youth in Cameroon and Sierra Leone, fostering sustainable land management and resilience. By providing skills development and capacity building, BLP empowers vulnerable communities to combat desertification and promote environmental stewardship.
