Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
WWANC's main aim is to create spaces and platforms for marginalised /vulnerable communities in Kenya to be equipped with skills and tools to mitigate climate change impacts that continues to hit women and children across the globe. women are hit hardest with environmental and climate crises thus there is need for them to be trained on climate adaptation actions as well as forest restoration initiatives including agroforestry to combat desertification at grassroots level for resilient futures.
AF-SEC promotes sustainable land use, climate resilience, and community well-being. We focus on environmental education, afforestation, soil restoration, and clean energy adoption, while empowering vulnerable families through livelihood support. Our aim is to combat desertification, enhance food security, and foster eco-friendly practices aligned with UNCCD goals.
Royal Albania Foundation (RAF) works on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, sustainable land management, and community-based climate resilience in Albania and the Western Balkans. Activities include forest and pasture restoration, pollinator and wildlife health, sustainable pastoralism, awareness campaigns, and youth engagement in combating land degradation and desertification.
Nyankonton Aid Foundation (NAF Ghana) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization advancing sustainable land management, afforestation, and climate-smart agriculture in Ghana. NAF combats land degradation from illegal mining and deforestation, restores forests and water bodies, empowers women and youth with green livelihoods, and promotes resilience to drought and desertification through community-driven initiatives.
CEPOW promotes community-driven conservation, reforestation, climate change adaptation, and sustainable livelihoods. Our work focuses on restoring degraded lands, planting trees along wildlife corridors, conserving endangered species like Great Apes,Elephants, Birds, and training farmers in climate-smart agriculture. We empower local communities through eco-clubs, environmental education, and sustainable use of non-timber forest products, aligning with UNCCD goals of combating land degradation.
Rural Aid Foundation's vision is ''An inclusive, healthy and poverty free society where digital, health and economic rights are protected and respected''. we strive to achieve this vision through three core objectives; To improve access to health and address health determinants To promote environmental conservation and address adverse climate change challenges To improve livelihoods through sustainable agricultural and food security system practices

The Corbett Foundation is a nonprofit organisation that works to conserve wildlife, restore ecosystems, and empower communities in over 850 villages in India. TCF prioritises habitat management, sustainable livelihoods, forest and grassland restoration, and reducing the effects of climate change. TCF promotes resilience, coexistence, and sustainable land use through community-led projects, invasive species removal, restoration site management, and biodiversity monitoring.
Amara Hub is a Uganda-based think-and-do tank advancing climate resilience, sustainable land management, and inclusive development. We promote regenerative agriculture, reforestation, and community-led innovations to combat land degradation and desertification. Our initiatives empower youth, women, and rural farmers through training, research, and data-driven advocacy to restore ecosystems and strengthen livelihoods.
