Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
WCMC supports sustainable land management and ecosystem restoration to combat land degradation and desertification. Our work strengthens policy, legal and planning frameworks for regenerative agriculture, nature-based solutions and restoration, and improves policy coherence to benefit people and nature. We strengthen the evidence base for cross-MEA synergies, including co-facilitating the UNEP-led Bern Process, to enhance coordinated implementation and monitoring.
AFA is a network of national family farming organizations in Asian countries with 13M smallholder family farmers, fishers, pastoralists, forest dwellers, working for sustainable, inclusive, just, healthy and empowering food systems by promoting land rights, agroecology, value addition by agricultural cooperatives , and empowerment of women and young farmers . We engage governments for pro-family farmer policies that contributes to climate resiliency , biodiversity , land restoration, incomes.
Farmers Abroad Canada Inc. is a Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture, food security, education, and community resilience in underserved rural communities. Our work is rooted in the belief that agriculture-based education and environmentally responsible food systems are foundational to long-term social and economic development.
Bilan Awdal Organization (BAO), established in 2002, works to combat desertification and drought in Somaliland through integrated water resource management and sustainable land practices. BAO constructs hafir dams, boreholes, and solar-powered water systems in drought-prone Awdal region, serving rural communities, pastoralists, and IDPs. UKCEH conducts global research and capacity‑building on land degradation, drought resilience, soil health, climate adaptation, and sustainable land management. We develop early‑warning systems, nature‑based solutions, soil‑health indicators, and decision‑support tools to help countries achieve land degradation neutrality and strengthen community and ecosystem resilience.
RMB is a youth-led nonprofit focused on environmental protection through responsible battery recycling, waste reduction, and community awareness. Our programs prevent harmful chemicals from entering soil and ecosystems by promoting safe disposal practices, organizing collection drives, and educating schools and communities. Through youth engagement and partnerships, we support sustainable resource use and contribute to global efforts to reduce land pollution and environmental degradation.
A civil society organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development, specializing in desert economics and just transition, with a presence and participation in Latin American countries. Objectives: To influence public policies and best practices in the agricultural, energy, and natural resource extraction industries.
MEC advances environmental conservation and sustainable development through four pillars: the National Park Academy and Rally for Rangers build capacity and provide material support for park rangers, while the Junior Rangers and Youth Sustainability Corps empower youth (ages 10–20) through education camps, eco-entrepreneurship competitions, national summits, and leadership programs. MEC fosters community resilience and sustainable land stewardship across Mongolia's ecosystems.

Its work includes research, education, and international cooperation on ecological restoration, soil and water conservation, vegetation recovery, sustainable land management, and Juncao-based solutions for desertification control and land rehabilitation. FAFU has participated in UN-related cooperation and international knowledge exchange in these fields.
