Civil society organizations
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
Centre for Livelihoods and Support to Sustainable Development (CLISSD) working directly with local communities, women, girls and youths to promotes regenerative agriculture, climate change ,sustainable land management, and biodiversity conservation. Our work strengthens community livelihoods through training, innovation, and advocacy, enhancing soil health, building climate resilience, and contributing to UNCCD’s goals of preventing desertification and restoring degraded land.
ACES is a non-for-profit Organization, highly engaged in the fighting against Climate Change, Biodiversity loss, ecosystem degradation, Waste and sewage pollution. Furthermore, we are strongly engaged in integrated water resources management, committed in Community Empowerment and development, Food system transformation and clean energy transition.
CIWED Ghana promotes sustainable land management, climate resilience, and environmental governance through community-based initiatives. Our work focuses on combating desertification, restoring degraded lands, supporting climate-smart agriculture, and empowering women and youth to adopt green livelihoods in vulnerable communities across Northern Ghana.
The organization for immigrants peace and federal development has a multiple and diverse mission of developing the global communities through the sustainable development goals agenda with regards to climate change actions, Life on Land relating to sustainable farming and planting of trees and plants and providing education which promotes on afforestation.
Balance Eco Foundation combines technology, art, and environmentalism to advance sustainable land use, ecosystem restoration, and biodiversity. We support NDC-aligned reforestation and soil regeneration through projects like “Chant with Balance,” a creative initiative using music and community participation to fund trees and raise awareness of ecological restoration aligned with the UN SDGs.
CASM promotes integral human development through self-management, strengthening social actors in rights, equity, and climate resilience. It supports sustainable land management, risk reduction, food security, and protection of vulnerable groups. CASM fosters democratic culture, territorial adaptation, and multisectoral alliances, rooted in Mennonite values and citizen participation.

My work is on project and programme planning in implementation, communication, advocacy in themes to include climate change, land degradation, adaptation and mitigation programmes, conservation and management of pesticides and herbicides. Our aims and objectives are to inculcate in communities and some groups of farmers who use the land to cultivate both food non non-crops for domestic and commercial purposes. These groups benefit from our intervention to support in engaging their activities.
The Cameroon Youth Nutrition Association (AJNC) promotes nutrition, water, and sanitation through education, art, and digital technology. It supports local initiatives that promote food security, drought resilience, and sustainable natural resource management, thereby contributing to the UNCCD objectives in Cameroon.
Daayyaa Generation Network is a youth-led NGO from Ethiopia supporting pastoralist communities. We empower youth through education, climate action, peacebuilding, WASH, and sustainable development initiatives, promoting land restoration, resilience to drought, and community-led solutions aligned with UNCCD goals.
