Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
Kigoma Elimu Foundation (KIEF) works to combat land degradation and climate vulnerability through youth-led environmental education, sustainable land management, indigenous tree planting, and community climate resilience initiatives. Our programs promote sustainable land use, soil conservation, food security, and climate adaptation by empowering adolescents, youth, women, and rural communities in Tanzania.
ANSO has been actively engaged in combating DLDD for many years. Established under ANSO in 2020, the ANSO-Association for Combating Desertification advances scientific cooperation, technology transfer, and capacity-building for sustainable land management. Through collaborative research, joint demonstration bases, and knowledge-sharing mechanisms, it promotes scientific understanding, inclusive adoption of technologies, and systemic capacity development. FORUDEF is devoted to promote the sustainable use of natural resources, regeneration of degraded landscape, the improvement of local community livelihood and the building of local capacities through partnerships, trainings, advocacy and the sharing of information in the Southwest region and beyond. FORUDEF envision communities in Cameroon living improved lives and in harmony with nature.
Salma Attah Foundation for Women and Girls Support (SAFWGS) works at the intersection of gender, climate resilience, and sustainable development. Our programs strengthen women’s leadership, community adaptation, sustainable land use awareness, food security, and public health in rural and urban communities through advocacy, capacity building, and education aligned with UNCCD objectives.
World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG) promotes Indigenous knowledge, sustainable land use, and youth engagement through sports and cultural programs. With members from 25+ countries, WIG supports community-led land stewardship, climate resilience, and awareness activities that align with UNCCD goals to combat desertification, land degradation, and protect cultural landscapes.
Mission inclusion (Fondation Jules et Paul-Émile Léger) soutient des projets qui renforcent la résilience des communautés face aux changements climatiques, favorisent la gestion durable des terres, l’agroécologie, la sécurité alimentaire et l’inclusion des groupes vulnérables. L’organisation appuie des initiatives locales visant la lutte contre la dégradation des terres et la réduction de la pauvreté.

Northern Mindanao farmers and Fishermen Integrated Livelihood Association Inc. Founded in 2016. Stand still through its own effort driving towards Economic Development to uplift the dignity and for the betterment of the lives of our Farmers and Fishermen and so the Indigenous Peoples that craving the bounty of hopes, seemingly such Socio-Economic benevolently cater by advocating United Nation/ International Program and projects.
The NGO P&W has long been dedicated to the restoration and regeneration of water resources in damaged ecosystems through widespread ecosystem-based rainwater retention. This knowledge is beneficial for water and food security, soil protection from degradation and increasing its fertility, improving active forest management and biodiversity protection, strengthening the local economy and protecting ecosystems from degradation, preventively reducing pressure on migration and healing the climate.
