Juliane Muellner

Juliane Muellner graduated from Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria, with a degree in legal studies and is currently International Relations Officer at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment.

In 2017 she joined the Austrian Ministry of Environment where she worked on policies and legislation related to plastics, waste management and contaminated sites. In 2021 she moved to the EU’s External Action Service focusing on environmental diplomacy. Since 2023 she has worked at the European Commission representing the European Union in international meetings and negotiations, including those related to the Convention on Biological Diversity and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.

She is also one of the current UNCCD National Focal Points for the European Commission.
